ItaliaFest slated for Sept. 7 in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM — The city and the Amsterdam Tourism, Marketing and Recreation Department will present Amsterdam’s ItaliaFest, sponsored by the River Ridge Living Center, from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 7, on Bridge Street, according to a news release.

The event will include Italian food, vendors, free amusement park rides and carnival games, bounce houses, food and drink specials.

The following is the schedule of events.

There will be a DJ and live Italian music all day.

The MCT Federal Credit Union will have a free photo booth and the Amsterdam Knights of Columbus will be hosting games of chance throughout the day.

∫ From 1 to 2:30 p.m. Louie and Lisa Velez.

∫ From 3 to 5 p.m. Music For Life.

∫ At 6 p.m. the first spaghetti eating contest, sponsored by Lorenzo’s Southside.

∫ From 6:30 to 9 p.m. Doug Ferony.

∫ At 9 p.m. the night will end with a fireworks show.
