JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Reformed Church, 351 N. Perry St., will present the documentary film: Harnessing Nature — Building the Great Sacandaga Lake at 7 p.m. Aug. 29. The program is free and open to the public, according to a news release.
The documentary chronicles the story of the engineering and the undertaking of creating the Great Sacandaga Lake. The film includes accounts of valley residents and original documents describing this creation. Some Sacandaga Valley residents lost their homes, farmland and communities.
