FONDA —The annual Sundae on the Farm event put on by the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and Montgomery County Soil and Water on the third Sunday of September has been canceled this year, according to a news release.
The sponsors said the event couldn’t be held because many farms in the county had planting delayed due to a wet spring, which started their growing season off behind schedule. The farmers have had to focus on maximizing their crop yield and have been playing catch up from the slow start. The sponsors were unable to find a farm that would be able to dedicate the time this year that hosting the event requires.
