ST. JOHNSVILLE — The Palatine Settlement Society, owners of the 1747 Nellis Tavern Historic Site, will hold their annual membership meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nellis Tavern. The annual elections for the board of trustees will be held, according to a news release.
The details for the evening at the tavern which will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19, open to the public, will be discussed. This will be an evening of craft beer, cider, soup, bread and dessert, served amidst candlelight and the sound of live period music. The donations will be $20 per person; reservations are requested at (518) 568-2997.
The PSS is a 501c(3) organization and uses funds from fundraisers and donations for continued restoration of the Nellis Tavern and the District 8 schoolhouse on the New Turnpike. The tavern will be open for tours during Path Thru History weekend Oct. 11, and 12.
