Sunday school set to begin this Sunday

ST. JOHNSVILLE — The St. John’s Reformed Church, 68 W. Main St., Sunday school will get underway at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The program is open to children ages 5 and up and is under the direction of Dawn Lamphere, according to a news release.

The children spend the first 15 minutes each week attending the opening of church. After the children’s message, they are then dismissed to class.

The class begins with a blessings and burdens circle during which the children are invited to share the good of their week or things that are weighing on their minds. A snack is also shared at that time as a reminder of the good found in God’s love.

The weekly lessons are grounded in the Scriptures and are enhanced with crafts and games. The Sunday lesson will be based on Matthew 7:24-27.
