Sunday Snowshoe at Landis Arboretum

ESPERANCE — The second Sunday Snowshoe event at the Landis Arboretum, 174 Lape Road, will be held on March 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Adults and families are all invited to learn about the different types of snowshoes and practice the basic skills they need to enjoy the serenity and unique beauty of winter on snowshoes on the Arboretum trails. If there’s no snow, staff will still be there since “there is nothing better than a snowy hike in the crystal clear air of winter.”

There are a limited number of snowshoes available for sizes from toddler to teens and adults. Everyone will get a chance to try out the snowshoes, but those who need them are encouraged to arrive early. People can also bring their own.

Following the walk, participants will meet back at the Farm House for hot cocoa and coffee. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear a sturdy pair of boots.

The cost for Arboretum members is $5 per person or $15 for a family. The cost for non-members is $15 per person or $25 per family.

Register online using PayPal, with a small administrative fee, at, or call the Arboretum at (518) 875-6935 to use VISA or MasterCard. Registration is also accepted at the Arboretum on the day of the event.

In the case the event must canceled, Landis will post the information to their Facebook page and send a Constant Contact email. Anyone who has preregistered at least a week in advance will be notified by personal email.
