The Mohawk Valley Nurses Association announced the recipients of its 2020 Eberle/Seise Student Nurse Award. The award goes to the top graduating student from the Fulton-Montgomery Community College of Nursing in Johnstown and Bellinger Schools of Nursing in Schenectady. They are recognized not only for their excellence in academics, but also for their activities in their chosen path of nursing that impact fellow students, patients and people in their communities.
This year, the students are Billie Jo Baird from Gloversville who graduated in May from FMCC and Amber Lee from Palatine Bridge who graduated from Bellinger in May. Both are pursuing careers in nursing.
The award they received is named for two nurses in the area who excelled in their profession and were honored by their peers when they retired by having set up this award in their names.
Baird and Lee have been awarded a year membership to MVNA and a gift certificate.
