JOHNSTOWN — Due to the covid pandemic and remote learning taking place throughout our county schools, the Fulton County Music Educators Association has teamed up with the United States Army Feild Band to put on a virtual festival in place of their traditional weekend-long in-person event. The festival will consist of performances from the Army Federal Brass, the Semper Six Woodwind Sextet, as well as the Hooacapella Vocal Ensemble. In addition to their performances, students will participate in live question and answer sessions. The festival will close by featuring selected students from Fulton County schools performing John Phillip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever alongside the Army Field Band. Music students county-wide in grades four through 12 will participate in the event.
The festival will take place live today, and will remain on youtube for viewing and sharing after the event. The link for the event can be found on the FCMEA website at https://sites.google.com/site/musicfcmea/.
