GLOVERSVILLE — A 49-year-old Gloversville woman was arrested Thursday by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Investigators after a complaint from the Department of Social Services.

Kathy Berry of Gloversville was arrested after a joint investigation between deputies and the Fulton County Department of Social Services Investigative Unit. It is alleged that Berry had been using the food stamp card of another individual. An investigation revealed that she had allegedly been accepting the use of the individual’s food stamp card as a payment for rent, authorities said. The other individual in question is believed to have fled the state and a warrant will likely be issued for his arrest, authorities said.

Berry was charged with second-degree criminal use of a benefit card, misuse of food stamps, and petit larceny, all misdemeanors. She was processed at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and released with an appearance ticket returnable to the City of Johnstown court.
