Western Fulton County Seniors

LASSELLSVILLE — The Western Fulton County Seniors met Aug. 9. There were 16 members present.

The meeting was then opened by President Angel Hill with the salute to the flag, and the Lord’s Prayer recited in unison.

In the absence of Secretary Karla Hoyt, the Secretary’s report was read by Barbara Kravec. The motion to accept the report as read was made by Shirley Van Aernam and Sue Reese seconded it. The motion was passed. The Treasurer’s report was read by Linda Christman. Rose Nemecek made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as read, and Marty Nemecek seconded the motion.

President Angel Hill noted the Fulton County OFA offers Farmers Market coupons, available in the side parking lot of the Office for Aging on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..

A sympathy card was mailed to member Pat Buchanan for the loss of her husband. Also noted was a Christmas trip to the Log Cabin on Dec. 7, with a cost of $59.00, due before Nov. 19. Pickup for this trip will be at the Ephratah Firehouse on Route 10 at 7 a.m. Angel Hill also thanked Mark Hill for the tree and grass trimming done at the Center. Collections of non-perishable items for the Food Drive fundraiser can be brought to the Center at the September, October and November meetings. Members also noted a Pet Food drive for the Ayres Animal Shelter, with donated food and toys, etc., to be collected at the Nov. 8 meeting. Members were reminded of the regular Bingo games to be held at the Center on Aug. 23, with pot-lunch following.

Tom Hogan stated the winners of the raffle tickets were Marty Nemecek, and Barb Carpenter. Barb Carpenter also won the 50-50 raffle and she donated the funds back to the Club.

Anyone interested in attending the regular second Monday monthly meetings held at noon with potluck lunch, is welcome. Come early to visit or to just play games or cards. Bingo is held on the fourth Monday with potluck lunch. The next regular meeting will be held Sept. 13. All are welcome.
