BROADALBIN — Fulton County Outdoor Adventure Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 showcasing the Route 29 and Route 30 Corridor, sponsored by the Fulton County Board of Supervisors and the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce. The following anchor sites will have passport maps for the day and will have various activities to include craft fair vendors, artisans, petting zoo, pony rides, football throw, face painting, bounce houses, inflatable obstacle course, free family photos, rock wall, bike safety and helmet giveaway, pumpkin painting, ax throwing, food trucks, craft beer, live music throughout the day and more. — Great Sacandaga Brewing Company, 3647 State Highway 30 will open at 11 a.m.
Visitors are encouraged to pick up a passport map and use it as a guide for the day. Visit all seven sites and drop off at any location for a chance to win a $500 prize package.
Katie Rhodes will be the featured speaker at 11 a.m. at the Fulton County Visitor Center. President of Adirondack Mountain Rescue, and a Leave No Trace Trainer, NYS hiking guide and mountain athlete, she will present “Back Country Hiking 101.” Her topics will include backcountry safety, emergency/survival gear and techniques, trip planning, recommended gear review and more.
