Fulton County Regional SPCA holding workshop

GLOVERSVILLE — Fulton County Regional SPCA will present a community education workshop on “Identifying Animal Cruelty and What YOU Can Do About It” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 30 at the Holiday Inn Johnstown, 308 N. Comrie Ave. Sheriff Richard Giardino and animal cruelty experts Jonathan Schopf of the Schopf Law Firm and Libby Post, executive director of the New York State Animal Protection Federation as well as members of law enforcement from New York State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Gloversville Police Department will define animal cruelty, discuss the laws and punishments, review actual case files and explain how to help those victims who cannot speak for themselves. The workshop is open to the public. The cost is $10 per person and registration and payment must be made in advance by Oct. 23. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
