The Greater Johnstown School District will conduct open enrollment for their full-day pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs for the 2022-2023 school year, during the week of Monday, Feb. 14 through Friday, Feb. 18.

Registration packets are available now and can be printed from the forms page of the district website. Families may also pick up a packet at the main offices of either Pleasant Avenue Elementary School or the Knox Building, or request one be mailed to them by emailing GJSD’s Registrar at [email protected].

Completed registration packets can be turned in along with required documentation (see list below) during the week of Feb. 14-18 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the district offices, located in the Knox Building (400 South Perry St., Johnstown). Registration packets will not be accepted prior to Feb. 14. Registrations will still be accepted after Feb. 18, however, student placement may be limited for the pre-K program.

There will be 54 slots available for the 2022-23 full-day pre-K program. If greater than 54 applications are received by March 11, a lottery will take place on Monday, March 14 at the Knox Building.

To be eligible to register for kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before Dec. 1, 2022 and must be district residents. If your child is currently attending Johnstown as a 2021-22 pre-K student, you do not need to complete the registration process for kindergarten for 2022-23.
