TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN — An out-of-state biker was killed in a crash Tuesday morning on state Highway 67 in Johnstown, Fulton County Sheriff’s officials said.
Officials identified the motorcyclist as Stephen Proctor, of Indiana.
The crash happened at about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday near the Fulton County Sanitary Landfill, officials said. Proctor was headed westbound when he skid out at a sharp turn into another lane and collided with an eastbound truck at 11:15 a.m., officials said. The roads were wet at the time.
Proctor was “alert and conscious” at the scene, but died afterwards at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Captain Matthew VanValkenburgh said. The truck driver is not at fault for the accident, the captain added.
“We still have to do our autopsy and stuff, but [the investigation] is pretty much over with,” said VanValkenburgh.
Responding agencies including the city of Johnstown Fire & Ambulance Service, the Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Fulton County Emergency Services Office.
