JOHNSTOWN – The last of three co-defendants in a case involving the theft of thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment from a town of Johnstown property last summer pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fulton County Court.
Jonathan M. Murphy, 21, of Midline Road, Amsterdam, pleaded guilty before Judge Richard C. Giardino to fourth-degree grand larceny as part of a plea arrangement.
Sentencing was adjourned until a later date, but he is expected to receive one to three years in state prison and he must make an unspecified amount of restitution.
Murphy was one of three men arrested by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department on Aug. 15, accused of taking about $3,000 worth of tools and equipment from a location on Maloney Road in the town. Also charged then were: Michael T. Blowers, 21, of Midline Road, Amsterdam; and Ryan M. Brown, 22, of Dean Street, Amsterdam.
Deputies initially charged the three with burglary, two counts of grand larceny and criminal trespass.
Blowers and Brown pleaded guilty before Giardino on Feb. 28 to felony grand larceny and are scheduled to receive one to three years in state prison when sentenced May 15.
