JOHNSTOWN – Two men may spend at least a year in prison after pleading guilty in connection with a theft in the town.
Ryan M. Brown and Michael T. Blowers, whose ages and addresses are not available, each pleaded guilty to a felony count of grand larceny in front of Fulton County Court Judge Richard C. Giardino on Feb. 28.
The pair, along with a third alleged accomplice, were arrested by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department on Aug. 15 after taking about $3,000 worth of tools and equipment from a location on Maloney Road in the town, according to the district attorney’s office.
They were charged with burglary, two counts of grand larceny and criminal trespass. Under terms of a plea arrangement, Brown and Blowers are expected to receive 1 to 3 years in prison, as well as a $1,000 fine and an order to pay restitution when they are sentenced May 15.
Their alleged accomplice, Jonathan M. Murphy, whose age and address is not available, has not accepted any plea arrangement and will next be in court Tuesday.
Blowers also pleaded guilty Feb. 28 to criminal mischief for allegedly damaging windows of a car in Perth in October. State police initially charged him with criminal mischief, assault, menacing and reckless endangerment.
Under terms of the plea arrangement, he is expected to receive 1 to 3 years in prison when he is sentenced May 1. That sentence would run concurrently with the prison sentence for his grand larceny plea, according to the district attorney’s office.
