Jeffers wins Johnstown Republican mayoral primary

JOHNSTOWN – Scott Jeffers won the Republican primary election Tuesday in the race for Johnstown mayor.

According to unofficial vote counts Tuesday, Jeffers received 292 votes from registered Republicans, while Helen Martin received 231 votes and Larry Razzano received 107 votes.

The victory gives Jeffers the Republican nomination going into the November general election.

Democrat Michael Julius will be on the ballot in the general election in November.

Incumbent Mayor Sarah Slingerland is not seeking a third term.
