Members of the Glove Cities Emergency Response Team were at the scene around 6 a.m., blocking off Allen Street as they raided the house. A helicopter circled the area during the raid.

Members of Gloves Cities Emergency Response Team and the state police Special Operations Response Team, assisted by Johnstown city police, executed a search warrant at the upstairs and downstairs apartments at the house, said Gloversville Police Capt. Mike Scott.

Scott said police had warrants for and arrested the following people:

Stephen Blaney, 33, of 7 Allen St., downstairs, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both felonies. The charges stem from an investigation into controlled buys of heroin at Blaney’s apartment, Scott said.

Victor Roman, 30, and Amber Brooker, 31, both of 7 Allen St., upstairs, were each charged with two counts third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Scott said those charges against Roman and Brooker stem from an investigation into controlled buys of crack cocaine at the upstairs apartment.

During the raid of the upstairs apartment, police found 3.9 grams crack cocaine, leading to additional charges of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance against Roman and Brooker, Scott said.

Roman, Brooker and Blaney were being held this morning as they awaited arraignment in Fulton County Court.

Also during the raid, Bettina Etherton, 34, was found in the downstairs apartment and taken into custody on a bench warrant out of City Court. Etherton was being held this morning for arraignment. Police provided no information about the allegations in the bench warrant.
