GLOVERSVILLE – Two women who were driving by alerted several people to get out of a burning house on Third Street on Wednesday, the city Fire Department reported.
Fire Chief Thomas Groff said Misty Nellis and Diana Deloria were driving in the area around 3 p.m. when they saw smoke at the 89 Third St. house. They got out of their vehicle and alerted the residents, including a woman and two children who were home at the time.
The fire damaged the attic, part of the upstairs and the outside of the house, fire officials said. Eight people were displaced because of the fire.
