Motorcyclist hurt in crash

JOHNSTOWN – A Gloversville motorcyclist was injured in a crash investigated by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies Thursday on Route 29, officials said.

Deputies said Jeffrey J. May, 30, of 199 Bleecker St., was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

The accident occurred at 6:03 p.m. west of County Highway 131 in the town.

Deputies said he was attempting to pass another vehicle already in the left lane when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Deputies said May was thrown from the bike, which then hit him while he was airborne.

Deputies said May landed in a ditch, and the motorcycle skidding about 112 yards.

May was ticketed on charges of unsafe speed and unsafe passing, authorities said.
