Missing woman returns home

JOHNSTOWN – A woman who has been the subject of a search in Wells since she went missing June 22 has returned to her family’s home in Johnstown, authorities said this morning.

Rachael Lynn Mattice, 24, is being medically evaluated at a hospital and appears to be in good condition, Hamilton County Sheriff Karl Abrams said in a news release.

An investigation is ongoing, the sheriff said.

Mattice was living alone at the family’s camp near West River Road in Wells when she went missing. Her vehicle and personal items were found at the camp, but she was gone, authorities said. Authorities, family members, volunteers and search dogs have been looking for Mattice.

More on this story will appear in today’s print and online editions.
