AMSTERDAM — The St. Mary’s Healthcare staff welcomed the first baby of the New Year on Jan. 1 at 7:27 a.m.
Mom and dad, Theresa and Dana Mesick of Esperance, started their New Year by giving birth to the first girl in five decades of the Mesick family.
Weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces, Makenna joins her two-year-old brother, Mason, who is reportedly “very excited” by his new sister.
A welcoming gift basket was presented to the family by Julia Shafer, director of women’s services at St. Mary’s and the St. Mary’s Maternity Team.
