GLOVERSVILLE — United Way of Fulton County is accepting applications for funding for the 2018-19 fiscal year at its Gloversville offices, starting on Monday, March 5.
Applications are also available electronically and may be obtained by emailing Lisa Pfeiffer on or after March 5 at [email protected]
Applications for funding for 2018 must be submitted to the UWFC office no later than 3 p.m. on May 30.
United Way continues its work to build a stronger community, creating opportunities for everyone by focusing on the three basic building blocks of a good life — education (helping children and youth achieve their potential), income (promoting financial stability and independence) and health (improving personal health), according to a news release. Input from community members, contributors and others affirm the value our community places on these issues.
Human service providers are asked to propose strategies, with defined outcomes and measurable results, to help advance in these areas. United Way will continue to use program outcomes and the United Way program outcome logic model as its evaluation method.
To be considered for funding, agencies must qualify as tax exempt under federal law and cannot discriminate because of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, political affiliation or disability. Agency applicants must provide programs or services in Fulton County.
A complete list of funding qualifications is available at the United Way of Fulton County offices and are included in the application for funding packets.
The allocations and agency relations committee consisting of volunteer members skilled in finance, management and accounting will review the information submitted with the proposal package and assist in making recommendations to the board of directors for United Way funding. Agency presentations will be heard in June, and applications will be reviewed for recommendation in July, for submission to the United Way board in August.
Completed applications will not be accepted via email or fax. Proposals that are mailed must arrive or be postmarked on or before the deadline and should be mailed to P.O. Box 911, Gloversville NY 12078. Hand-delivered applications will also be accepted, up to the deadline, at 110-112 N. Main St., Gloversville.
