CAROGA — A Gloversville area man found in a vehicle with nearly 50 grams of cocaine was arrested by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies on two felonies late Sunday.
Deputies said Stephen E. Dingman, no age listed, of 138 Route 29A, Gloversville, was charged with felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
A sheriff’s office news release indicated that a deputy at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday initiated a vehicle stop on Route 29A in the town of Caroga for “suspicious activity.” Upon making contact with the operator and passenger of the vehicle, the sheriff’s department conducted a vehicle search.
Deputies searched the passenger, Dingman, and found he possessed 1.76 ounces of cocaine (49.9 grams), along with $829, the release said.
Dingman was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail and $50,000 bond. A jail spokesman said Thursday that Dingman bailed out Tuesday.
He is scheduled to appear later in Town Court.
