CAROGA — Sawyer Fredericks, the “musical pride” of Glen and who won “The Voice” television singing competition in 2015 when he was 15 years old, will perform at Sherman’s Amusement Park in Caroga Lake on June 8, kicking off the 7th season of the Caroga Lake Music Festival.

Concert admission is free, but tickets are required, with a limit of four. Reserve your tickets now.

There will be limited front-row seating and other benefits are available for a donation to the Caroga Lake Music Festival.

The concert will start at 7 p.m., and the park will open for admission at 5 p.m.

In March, Fredericks, known for his original renditions of well-known folk songs as well as his own songwriting, released his third album, “Hide Your Ghost,” a mostly-analog recording made at Dreamland Recording Studios in Woodstock.

Fredericks’s first-place “The Voice” prize was $100,000 and a recording contract. Before that, however, he was known as a local musician, playing at local farmers’ markets, open mics, and iconic New York venues like Caffe Lena, the Towne Crier Cafe and The Bitter End.

On reality TV, he quickly won over broad audiences with his genuine delivery and unique arrangements of classic songs. Fredericks then released his debut album, “A Good Storm,” with Republic Records, a blend of soulful folk, blues, and rock, entirely written or cowritten by Sawyer. His 2016 A Good Storm tour included 62 shows across the U.S.
