Mayor Dayton King charged by state police with petit larceny, other charges

GLOVERSVILLE — Mayor Dayton King was taken into custody by state police at Fonda today and is facing multiple charges.

King, 40, was charged with first-degree falsifying business records, official misconduct and petit larceny.

Troopers said an investigation revealed that King had allegedly been using the city postage meter located in City Hall for purposes other than city business and had falsified the accompanying ledger.

King was issued an appearance ticket and released. He is due to appear in City Court on Monday.
