College fair is set for Tuesday

JOHNSTOWN — The annual Tri-County Counselors Association College Fair is set for Tuesday in the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Physical Education Building.

During the free event, high school students and parents will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from more than 70 colleges and universities. The event will also feature an optional workshop in which parents and students can learn about financial aid opportunities.

The fair will run from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. During the morning and evening sessions, colleges and universities will have informational tables available, and students and parents will be free to speak with admission counselors at their own pace. The optional workshop will be held in the evening only.

During the evening session, parents and students will be able to attend the Financial Aid and the Excelsior Scholarship Update workshop. The topic will be presented from 6:30 to 7 p.m. by FMCC financial aid coordinator Rebecca Cozzocrea. The discussion will provide an overview of financial aid options as well as help attendees to gain a greater understanding of the Excelsior Scholarship.

Colleges and universities to be represented are Albany College of Pharmacy, Alfred University, Allegheny College, Bryant University, Canisius College, Castleton University, Cazenovia College, Champlain College, Clarkson School, Clarkson University, College of St. Rose.
