FCAA receives clean audit report

FONDA — The Fulmont Community Action Agency recently had its annual audit and once again for over the 20th consecutive year, have received a “clean audit.”

According to a press release, the non-profit organization that provides childhood educational services, home weatherization, WIC nutrition and other emergency and ongoing community services in Fulton and Montgomery counties announced the results of its recent agency-wide audit which came back clean.

“Receiving the highest audit opinion possible reflects the agency’s commitment to excellence in financial management,” said Fulmont CFO David Schissler. “Our services have helped thousands of local residents, and continued confidence in our financial operations will enable Fulmont to continue to promote self-sufficiency, along with improving the quality of life for many in our communities.”

The release states that since Fulmont is federally funded, they are required to obtain an in-depth audit on an annual basis. This year’s audit took place over several days nearly December 2017. During the Fulmont Board of Director’s meeting held on Feb. 3, Kent Stancliff, CPA, of EFPR Group, LLP presented the results of the audit that indicated an unmodified audit with no findings — a clean audit. In addition, there were no recommendations making it so Fulmont has had a “clean audit” for over 20 consecutive years,” according to the release.

“I’d like to recognize the efforts of our past CFO, Patrick Martin, CPA, the fiscal staff, as well as all other management staff, for helping us to achieve this status,” said Fulmont Executive Director Denis E. Wilson. “This is proof of our excellent financial position, and it highlights the strength of our agency and gives confidence to our funding sources and donors, both current and potential.”

“The executive staff and employees at Fulmont are to be commended for another fantastic audit,” said Fulmont Board Chairperson Mark Ford. “Their continued pursuit to be the best they can be as they serve the community is on display every day. This agency is something the entire community can take pride in.”
