FONDA — A Yonkers man now faces drug and prison contraband charges after five grams of crack cocaine was found his possession while being processed into the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on a felony warrant.
On Friday, Michael T. Thomas, 57, of 97 Walsh Road 5C, Yonkers, was arrested and being transported from the Yonkers Police Department to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on a felony warrant from Montgomery County Court for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to a press release. The warrant was active out of Montgomery County for six failure to appear.
While being processed into the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, correction officers located approximately five grams of crack cocaine concealed in Thomas’s sneaker.
He was charged by the Investigations Unit with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting prison contraband, both felonies.
Thomas was arraigned in Montgomery County Court where he was released on his own recognizance on all charges, including the warrant, and is scheduled to appear in Glen Town Court at a later date.
