AMSTERDAM — In anticipation of significant snow amounts, the city will declare a snow emergency today beginning at 6 p.m. Monday night until further notice, according to a news release.
The snow emergency requires that all motor vehicles be removed from (parking on) city streets by 6 p.m. Vehicles cannot park on city streets until the snow emergency is lifted. If anyone has questions or concerns, call the Amsterdam Police Department at (518) 842-1100.
The following is a list of city owned parking lots: City Hall; Post Office; Guy Park Avenue Extension (Kirk Douglas parking); Golf Course; Veteran’s Field (upper field along Locust Avenue and Roosevelt Road and the road to the pool building; Morris Street Parking Lot; East Main and DeGraff (both lots); between Vrooman and Lefferts (behind Art Center); Eagle and East Main Streets; Dean and East Main Streets; 47 Reid Street; Milton Avenue between First and Second Avenues; Prospect Street (upper, near Elizabeth Street); Chestnut and Lincoln (basketball court); Bunn and Thomas Street; Greene and Mechanic Street; Union and Orange Street; Union Street (between Brandt and McDonnell); Clinton and Division Street; Bridge Street (next to bakery); 197 Florida Avenue; Pedestrian Bridge Lot/Chalmers; Church Street and Willow Street (Park and Ride); Main Street (next to old Key Bank Building); Grove Street — eastern side only; Minaville Street.
