JOHNSTOWN — Fire damaged a vehicle inside a business Saturday night on Route 30A.
A Johnstown Fire Department spokesman said this morning that the call came in at 5:22 p.m. Saturday. Units responded to Builders FirstSource, 99 N. Comrie Ave.
The spokesman said the call first came in as a “structure fire,” but it was soon learned it was confined to a delivery vehicle inside the building. He said heavy smoke emanated from the vehicle upon arrival by firefighters.
Firefighters used two-inch lines to quickly extinguish the vehicle, and there was heavy smoke in the building.
No injuries were reported, although the fire was still under investigation today.
The spokesman said the building sustained some smoke damage. Builders FirstSource was open for business this morning, an employee said.
The Gloversville Fire Department responded as mutual aid, and the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps also was on the scene.
