The release said that at about 5:59 p.m. Monday, members of the Gloversville Police Department patrol and detective divisions responded to East Fulton Street, near the intersection with Fox Street for a report of a bicyclist who had been struck by a motor vehicle.

Police said the initial investigation indicates that the motor vehicle was traveling east on East Fulton Street while the bicyclist was traveling west on East Fulton Street.

The release said the bicyclist suffered “significant” physical injuries, and was treated on the scene by Lake-Valley EMS, ultimately airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment. The bicyclist remained in the Intensive Care Unit as of the time of the release this morning, police said. Officially, his status is listed as “critical,” police said.

The Gloversville Police Department was assisted on scene by the Saratoga County Crash Reconstruction Unit.
