BROADALBIN — The Fulton County household hazardous waste drop-off day will take place from 7 a.m. Aug. 7, at the Fulton County Department of Solid Waste, 847 Mud Road, Johnstown, at no cost, according to a news release.
The acceptable household waste items include:
∫ Oil-based paints and stains; bad latex paint; polyurethane.
∫ Household cleaning products; solvents; degreasers.
∫ Lawn care products (pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides; pool chemicals.
∫ Home maintenance items (thinners, strippers, varnish).
∫ Automobile fluids, anti-freeze, gasoline and kerosene; driveway sealer; photographic chemicals.
∫ Items also accepted — these products have year round disposal: Fluorescent bulbs (compact fluorescent light bulbs and tubes), rechargeable and vehicle batteries, mercury-containing thermometers and thermostats and electronics.
