JOHNSTOWN — The Gloversville-Johnstown Wastewater Treatment Facility did well on its recent independent audit.
A report on the audit was recently given to the Gloversville-Johnstown Joint Sewer Board.
Facility consultant Donna Renda referred board members to an independent auditor’s report from Albany-based BST & Co. CPAs, LLP. The audit is for the year ending Dec. 31, 2020.
The report disclosed “no significant instances” of non-compliance, Renda said. Also, no corrective actions or alternative procedures were suggested, she said.
Copies of the report were forwarded to fiscal departments in the cities of Gloversville and Johnstown.
In other recent sewer board business:
∫ The board authorized advertisement for bids for a two-year contract for supply and delivery of ferrous chloride. Plant Manager Wallace Arnold requested the bidding.
∫ Board members authorized acceptance of a $21,810 bid proposal from NYE Automotive Group of Oneida for a small pickup truck — a 2022 Ford Maverick.
∫ Arnold reported a bid opening was held July 12 for sale of a non-roadworthy 2010 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. The board accepted a $400 offer from Reuben Kennedy. He is receiving the vehicle in “as is” condition, without warranties or guarantees.
∫ In a sewer bill protest from 75 Third St., Gloversville, the board denied credit that was sought. Renda reviewed the request for a sewer bill adjustment for excess water usage. The denial was given since the excess water entered the sewer system and had to be treated.
∫ O&M purchase orders and disbursements totaling $191,625 were approved for payment. Capital disbursement sheets totaling $421,089 were approved for payment.
∫ Board Chairman John Rizzo noted a Teamsters Local 294 union representative submitted a Teamsters healthcare proposal for review.
∫ Rizzo received a copy of Fulton County’s SMART Waters preliminary engineering report for proposed connections along the Route 30 corridor. Board member Christopher Perry offered to forward electronic copies of the report to other board members.
∫ The board unanimously decided against advertising in the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce magazine, “Focus on Fulton Montgomery Region, New York.”
