COVID-19 cases escalating in area

JOHNSTOWN — Fulton County Public Health would like to inform residents that cases of COVID-19 in our community have been escalating. According to the CDC COVID-19 Tracker, Fulton County is at the “Substantial” level of community transmission.

Of the active COVID-19 cases in Fulton County, several have identified that they had recently visited businesses in the area. Fulton County Public Health is strongly recommending that all persons, regardless or vaccination status, wear a mask in public indoor establishments.

Getting vaccinated will reduce the severity if someone becomes infected.

Those who are interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, visit Vaccines.gov or talk to your primary care provider to find a COVID-19 vaccination site.

Additionally, Fulton County Public Health will be holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Aug. 26, from 10 to 11 a.m.

This clinic will be for the Moderna vaccine and for individuals 18 years of age and older only.

Call Fulton County Public Health at (518) 736-5720 with any questions or to schedule a time to receive the vaccine.
