FMCC to host event on 9/11

JOHNSTOWN — With the observation of the 20th anniversary of the tragic events that took place on Sept. 11, 2001, Fulton-Montgomery Community College is planning a remembrance event on Saturday, Sept. 11. All are welcome to attend.

The event will kick off at 8 a.m., with members of the Schenectady Pipe Band performing.

The agenda includes a welcome from FM President Greg Truckenmiller, Assemblyman Santa Barbara, Assemblyman Smullen, Sheriff Richard Giardino from the Fulton County Sheriff’s office, and Sheriff Jeff Smith from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office.

Members of the Town of Mohawk Fire Department will be on hand to provide a bell ringing service during the event as well.

Professor Joel Chapin will provide a history of the piece of the tower that is installed on the Fulton-Montgomery Community College campus and our Perrella Art Gallery will be open with a photo display from the 9/11 attack.

All are welcome to attend this important remembrance event. Reservations are not necessary.
