CAPITAL REGION – The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory across the Capital Region for Wednesday, including Fulton County.
Highs Fulton County Wednesday through Friday are expected to be in the mid-80s.
Tuesday’s high is expected to be in the low-80s.
The heat advisory for Wednesday advises of heat index values of up to 100 degrees expected.
Wednesday’s heat advisory runs from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
“Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities,” the service says.
People should be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors, officials said.
