DOT plans road work in region

ALBANY — The state Department of Transportation has scheduled a variety of road work to take place this week in the Capital Region, a news release said.

The work, which could start Monday for some projects, will include:

Montgomery County

• City of Amsterdam: Route 30 over the Canal. Motorists will encounter a south bound right lane closure (outside lane), a north bound auxiliary lane and right lane are closed. The Route 30 north bound ramp to Route 5 east bound will be closed as well as the Erie Street ramp to Route 30 north bound. Route 5 east bound ramp to Route 30 south bound is closed. The Route 30 south bound ramp to Bridge Street will be closed. There will be signed detours in place.

• City of Amsterdam: Route 5 between County Route 157 and Route 30 southbound. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to the installation of project construction signs and message boards.

• City of Amsterdam: Route 30 between I-90 and Route 5S. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to the installation of traffic signal foundations.

• City of Amsterdam: Route 30 between Tessiero Square and Maple Avenue. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to signalized intersection work.

• City of Amsterdam: Route 5 between John Street and Lark Street. Motorists will encounter a full east bound sidewalk closure with a pedestrian detour in place.

• Village of Fort Johnson: Route 5 between Stoners Trail and Route 67. Motorists will encounter a Phase 2 traffic pattern due to bridge replacement. There will be a lane closure in each direction with the occasional flagger at the intersections. Route 5 east bound traffic is now shifted into one thru lane. The westbound traffic is now shifted into one lane.

• Town of Canajoharie: Route 10 between the Village of Canajoharie to the Schoharie County Line. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.

FULTON COUNTY

• City of Johnstown: (Route 30A between Briggs Street and Prindle Avenue. Motorists will encounter lane shifts in both directions due to utility work, and storm drainage installation along Route 30A.

• Town of Johnstown: Route 29A at the intersection of County Route 122. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to signal work.

HAMILTON COUNTY

• Town of Indian Lake: Route 28 between Indian Lake and the Warren County line. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to paving operations.
