High schools: Broadalbin-Perth boys’ basketball falls in opener


Broadalbin-Perth’s Mariano DiCaterino fires up a 3-point shot against Scotia-Glenville during Foothills Council action Friday at Scotia-Glenville High School in Scotia.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Mariano DiCaterino scored a game-high 30 points including eight three-pointers in the Patriots 67-46 Foothills Council loss to Scotia-Glenville. The Tartans were led by Ben Kline’s 23-point night with Griffin Fratterigo dropping in 16 and Aaron Corker adding 14.

Ben Swartz finished with 20 points to lead Hudson Falls to a 63-37 victory over Gloversville in a Foothills Council contest at Hudson Falls. The Tigers led 18-9 after one quarter and 38-16 at the half on their way to the win. Peyton Smith added 18 points for Hudson Falls. Gio Glionna scored 10 points to lead Gloversville.

Deondre Guinard scored 16 points and nine rebounds to lead four players in double figures as Queensbury posted a 57-41 Foothills Council victory over Johnstown. Trevon Bailey had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans, Zion Freeman netted 12 points and five steals, and Aiden Bleibrey added 10 points and four assists. Steve VanNostrand finished with 10 points for Johnstown.

Mulhern leads Duanesburg with 15
Hannah Mulhern led Duanesburg with 15-points in the Eagles 73-40 non-league win over Cambridge. Allison O’Hanlon added 14 points with Alex Moses and Madison Meyer each chipping in 11 points. Stasia Epher led Cambridge with 17 points in the loss.
