Winter Storm Warning for Fulton, Montgomery counties Sunday-Monday; 6 to 14 inches possible

ALBANY – A Winter Storm Warning is set to take effect Sunday night and continue through the day Sunday for all of Montgomery and Fulton Counties, the National Weather Service said.

The warning area are expected to see heavy mixed precipitation, with total snow accumulations of 6 to 14 inches and a light glaze of ice, the service said.

Winds could gust as high as 50 mph, the service said.

The warning runs from 10 p.m. Sunday to 10 p.m. Monday.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible, the service said. The gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour were possible from midnight to 7 a.m., the service said.

The snow is then expected to change to a wintry mix Monday morning.
