The investigation began Monday after investigators received a report of child abuse that involved the 2-year-old and abnormal bruising on her body, officials said.

Investigators interviewed Youngs-Kerr and Schaffer regarding the injuries and later arrested them. They are accused of causing the injuries, officials said.

They were arraigned and ordered held on bail.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by District Attorney Lorraine Diamond and Montgomery County Child Protective Services.
