The incident began just before noon Saturday at the NBT Bank on Bridge Street in Northville, state police said.

Troopers responded there for a report of a robbery in progress. The two suspects soon fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to law enforcement arriving, state police said.

No weapon was seen, but the presence of one was implied, state police said.

Patrols soon spotted the suspects’ vehicle and began a brief pursuit, state police said. The chase ended on Gifford Road in the town of Providence in Saratoga County when both suspects fled from the vehicle.

Troopers immediately took Morehouse into custody. Ellis fled and was located after a search of the area, state police said.

The men were arraigned and ordered held without bail due to prior felony convictions, state police said.

State police were assisted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
