High schools: Fonda-Fultonville baseball rallies past Broadalbin-Perth in high-scoring game

Fonda-Fultonville used an eight-run rally in the top of the sixth inning to capture a 16-12 non-league baseball win over Broadalbin-Perth on Saturday.

Jackson Croucher doubled twice for Fonda-Fultonville, while Giovanni DiCaprio, Tyler Daus, Derek Duval, Joey Susi and Logan Yaggle drove in two runs apiece.

Michael Magliocca knocked in three runs for Broadalbin-Perth, and both Hayden Benton and Luke Tambasco doubled.

Gloversville fell 11-7 to Saugerties, with Kyle Robare providing a double and two RBIs to lead Gloversville. The Huskies also got a double from Logan Oathout. Ty VanValkenburg and Jace VanValkenburg each doubled for Saugerties, which also took advantage of 12 walks.

Canajoharie powered to a 13-2 Western Athletic Conference win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo behind a double, single and four RBIs from Jack Montanye and two-hit days from Tommy Weingart, Riley Montanye and LaAnthony Fairley. B-K-W got doubles from Ryan Heath, Tim Saddlemire and Luke Boltri.

Mason Snell homered and drove in three runs for OESJ in a 13-3 win over Mayfield. Cam Abdella knocked in two runs and Aiden Martuscello had two hits and a run batted in for Mayfield.

Middleburgh had five-run innings in both the second and fifth in an 11-2 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons. Derrick Fuller, Ian Hoop, Josh Reinhart and Tristan Diaz each drove in two runs for Middleburgh. ND-BG got a single and an RBI from Joe Moran, and pitcher Colin Campbell logged nine strikeouts over four innings.

Liv Nevo scored five goals, and Mishayia Temple scored the game-winner in overtime of Albany’s 10-9 non-league girls’ lacrosse victory over Johnstown. Temple also had three assists. Johnstown’s Amia Hall and Regan Wilcox scored two goals each.
