Two days after suffering their first loss of the 2022 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season, the Amsterdam Mohawks had no trouble getting back on the winning track Friday night, as they thrashed the Boonville Baseball Club 11-0 at Shuttleworth Park in a game stopped after seven innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Amsterdam (9-1) needed just seven hits to rack up 11 runs, as the Mohawks drew 13 walks, took advantage of three errors and scored four of their runs on wild pitches and passed balls by Boonville.
Cameron Love had the biggest hit of the day for Amsterdam, a three-run double as part of a six-run fourth innings. Gage Miller went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, and Amsterdam scored in five of its six offensive innings.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam pitchers Cade Citelli, Von Baker and Ryan Van Buren cruised to a three-hit shutout. Citelli earnedhis second win of the season, allowing two hits, striking out seven and walking two in five innings.
The Mohawks are back home at Shuttleworth Park on Saturday to host the Oneonta Outlaws at 6:35 p.m., then travel to the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds on Sunday to face the Watertown Rapids at 5 p.m.
