Gloversville woman charged in Northampton forged check investigation, troopers say

NORTHAMPTON – A Gloversville woman has been arrested in connection with a forged check investigation in Northampton, New York State Police said.

Jessica A. Tunnicliff, 40, of Gloversville, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor, police said.

The investigation began in June as troopers received a complaint from a Northampton resident that a check the victim had been expecting never came. They contacted the check issuer and were told it had been sent and cashed, police said.

The investigation determined Tunnicliff took the check named to the victim and cashed it without the victim’s knowledge or permission and kept the funds for herself, police said.

Tunnicliff was processed and released to appear in court later.
