Police warn of fake ‘Motion Picture’ currency in Gloversville

GLOVERSVILLE – Gloversville police Wednesday warned of fake “Motion Picture” currency found in the city.

Police Wednesday responded to numerous complaints of the fake money, labeled as “For Motion Picture Purposes,” being found on North Main Street, police said.

“This imitation currency has no value, and is not legal tender,” police wrote in a release. “The imitation currency may be disposed in the trash, if discovered.”

The fake money is also described as not feeling like legal tender. Police released a photo of one of the found bills.
