NISKAYUNA – A body found Saturday in the Mohawk River at Niskayuna has been identified as that of a missing Canajoharie man, New York State Police said Monday.

The body of Kevin J. White, 41, of Canajoharie, was found Saturday afternoon, just after 4 p.m. in the Mohawk River near Lions Park in Niskayuna, police said.

White had been missing since Jan. 12, when he was last seen on video surveillance systems in the village.

New York State Police referred further comment on the investigation to the Canajoharie Police Department.

Canajoharie Police Department also confirmed White’s identity and noted someone kayaking on the river first spotted the body. The clothing on the body appeared to match that of White.

An autopsy Monday morning confirmed the body to be White. He also had no injuries consistent with foul play, police said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma seen, police said.
