Perth man charged after recent Montgomery-Fulton-county police chase, troopers say

JOHNSTOWN – A Perth man has been charged in connection with a police chase that spanned two counties, New York State Police said.

Todd J. Podrazik, 45, of Perth, was arrested April 16 on misdemeanor drug counts, as well as vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.

The incident began early in the morning on April 16. Troopers then were looking for a vehicle that failed to stop for a Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy in Fonda, leading to a pursuit, police said.

Troopers then found t he vehicle on Route 334 in Johnstown and attempted to stop the vehicle again. The vehicle again fled, police said.

A Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy then successfully used a tire deflation device, leading the car to become disabled, police said. The driver, identified as Podrazik, attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly arrested.

Police found him to be in possession of multiple controlled substances and to be without a valid driver’s license, police said.

Podrazik was processed and released to appear in court later.
