School track and field: Broadalbin-Perth girls win Luciano Invitational

HIGH SCHOOLS – The Broadalbin-Perth girls’ track and field team edged Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 80.5-80, to win the Anthony Luciano Memorial Invitational team title at Hudson Falls on Saturday. Ballston Spa was third with 72.5 points.

Broadalbin-Perth didn’t have any individual wins, but got seconds from Haley Tomlinson in the 400 hurdles (1:13.60), Isabella Hernandez in the long jump (15-9.50) and high jump (4-6), and Lillian Hughes in the javelin (94-5).

Shaker won the team championship on the boys’ side, and Broadalbin-Perth had a pair of individual winners in Rylee VanAlstine (400, 50.10) and Hunter O’Dell (triple jump, 42-9.25).

At the Maple Hill Invitational, Johnstown’s Eleyna Rivas won both the girls’ 400 (1:04.97) and high jump (4-8).

At the Granville Blue and Gold Invitational, Fort Plain;s Katie LeRoy won the 100 hurdles in 20.60 seconds.
