BROADALBIN — Broadalbin-Perth voters approved the school district’s $41.2 million budget, 478-204.
The budget calls for a 3.87% spending increase over the current school year and a tax levy increase of 0.95%.
Voters approved a proposition to allow the district to purchase three 66-passenger buses, two vans and one large SUV by a vote of 519-160. The state will pay for about 80% of the total cost.
Voters greenlit another proposition to establish a capital reserve fund, 479-202 The fund will be used to pay for the local share of future capital project expenditures, and may be funded up to $10 million over 10 years.
Residents also voted Samantha Gallup onto the Broadalbin-Perth Board of Education for a five-year term with 337 votes, beating out two other candidates.
